December was the time of giving!

For Christmas, my family exchanged names.  Instead of trading a list of things that we wanted, we traded a list of two charities.  Each of us had a month to complete a project and then “give” a gift related to that project

I had my Aunt. Her two ideas that I had to pick from were hunger and literacy.  Although I helped with her project and we collected over 650 canned food items, I failed to complete anything on my own….

I did turn in my donation for Pat’s Kids!!! I had collected a total of $225 dollars over the year.  Bake sales, garage sales, and making bracelets really paid off.  That with the $500 dollars I won earlier in the year was a great donation!

December did not plan out to be as “big” as I wanted it to be. It came way to fast and I just wasn’t ready. I hope that I am more prepared next year so that I can do more things to help out!

Hey Guys!!!!

First of all, the November project went awesome!!!! My aunt collected over 650 items. AWESOME!!!! My mom and I helped take the food items and deliver them to the Good Samaritan House.

Next, Pat Benton had his radio broadcast for Pat’s Kids. I wasn’t able to make it, but I WAS still able to donate $225 to the amazing charity. That is on top of the $500 dollars I won in the contest earlier this year.

Finally, to the December project. My aunts, mom, step dad, and I traded names for Christmas. But we aren’t trading gifts. We wrote down things that we thought needed to be helped or fixed such as hunger issues. I cannot explain fully what mine is, because then the person I received will know that I have them. I will explain more later! For now, we are all doing great work for charity.  It feels great that I could inspire them all to help out.
