The June collection was great! My friends and teachers at both schools gave so much stuff! I have been at camp all week so I haven’t finish separating all of the pencils and notebooks and crayons and EVERYTHING! We have all of this stuff filling up our living room. I am sure Mom is ready for me to be home so we can take it all in to Heartland Heroes. I want to separate it so that they know what is actually there. I am so happy that these kids will have supplies next year.
I’ll post some pictures next week. Thanks everybody!
As school ended, Molly set up some boxes at her school. She also asked her Aunt to do the same at her school. The students and teachers really came through. Our living room is full of notebooks, pencils, paper, glue, etc. These are mostly items that were going to be thrown away. They have been saved from the landfills and are going to be used again! I’m sure the kids will be excited when Heartland Heroes sends it all to them.
Molly has started her summer by going on vacation. She will be back in a while and will update everyone on how the separation and delivery turned out. She has a lot of work to do before our living room will be empty again.
Keep up the good work!!
It is time for another project! This month, I am helping a local charity called Heartland Heroes. It is a great organization and you can check out their website at www.heartlandheroes.com.
For my project, I am collecting school supplies for kids that don’t have any. Heartland Heroes said that they do not have to be new so I asked my principal if we could colect stuff that the kids are going to throw away. Not only are we helping other kids, we are helping to keep the stuff out of the landfills. Seems like a pretty good deal. It may seem easy but it may not be as easy as we think. After we pick up the items from school, we are going to have to separate it all. It could take a while. I’ll keep you posted!!
