Hey everyone.

The soda tab collection is going great. Here’s the count.

Our principal has……Two five gallon jugs and 75% of a five gallon bucket full.

Our assistant principal has……One five gallon jug and two 5 gallon buckets full.

Looks like our assistant principal has taken the lead just by a little bit. It will be a close one. The contest will be ending this Thursday so bring in your tabs fast!

Greetings Earthlings!

For these three months I will have one main project.  I will still do other things but this is the big one.

We will be collecting soda can tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.  We will have a contest at my school.  There will be two containers to fill up.  One will have my Principal’s name and the other will have my Vice Principal’s name on it.  Students will then put their tabs in one of the containers.  Which ever principal has the most tabs in there container will have to pay the price! The price is……

A pie shoved in their face! And the best part is that the one with the least amount of tabs gets to throw the pie! We will be broadcasting it on our morning news station!

Hey. It’s Molly! As you may have noticed I have not been posting about the April project. Well, I have learned my lesson. And that lesson is that sometimes you bite off more than you can chew! And what that means is that I said I could do more than I was capibale of. So I did not get to do 10 hours of cleanup in April.

Saturday I attended a ceremony for a program called Kid’s With Heart. I won the grand prize. The grand prize was $500 to a charity of your choice, and $100 to spend at any store at the mall. I chose to donate my money to Pat’s Kids.  The other kids who won are doing some WONDERFUL things too. I was amazed at all the community work kids are doing!!!! So keep up the good work!!!!

This weekend I am hoping to get some hours for the April clean up project. I hope that other people are getting involved and cleaning up their community too. It’s hard to believe that the May project is almost here!!!!

Happy Earth Day!!

…………………………………………………………………..

I hope that you are able to use this beautiful day to get out & take care of the planet we live on.

The hardest part about volunteering is picking who you want to help.   We found an article on the Southern Illinoisan’s website that talks about ways you can help.  The article is titled “1,000 ‘Dawgs’ sought to help with service projects”  It has eight different activities planned for this Saturday.  They wanted students to register by yesterday but they won’t turn down help.  This list is only a few things that are going on this weekend in Southern Illinois.  There are always opportunities to help.

I’ve heard that April is Volunteer month.  Every month should be!

Well…the March project is still going on.

For April, I want to add on something else.  This month, I am going to do at least 10 hours of clean-up service.  Earth Day is in April & I love to help clean up the Earth.  It is only a couple of hours a week & I know I’ll make a difference!

I hope everyone will spend a little extra time taking care of the Earth this month.  You could start recycling or you could take a walk & just pick up some trash along the road.  It can be fun!  Besides, no one wants to live in garbage.

It appears that another month has started without Molly revealing her next project.  Check back soon to learn what she is going to tackle next!
